Nanako Mizuki (水樹 ななこ, Mizuki Nanako) appears in the first episode at the very start of GTO series who is Eikichi Onizuka's first big challenge at Musashino Public High School.
After Onizuka's first day at Musashino, he found her crying in Inokashira Park. She said she was kicked out of her house after a fight with her parents. Onizuka realized he's her teacher and it's his duty to help her. She lured him into a trap in an attempt to try to get some money out of him (along with the 3 punks of Class O), but Onizuka didn't go down. At around the same time, she tried to reach out and get some help. With her family life deteriorating, she felt that Onizuka could fill that void.
Ultimately, Onizuka did something to help her out, demonstrating his abnormal strength by destroying a part of the wall that symbolized the distance she felt between her and her family. After that, she kind of fell in love with Onizuka, claiming that when he becomes the greatest teacher in Tokyo, she'll be waiting for him.

- Nanako's surname Mizuki means "water" (水) (mizu) and "tree" (樹) (ki).
